Most of our clients here at Perkolate are always interested marketing their website to make sure they get the most exposure they can for their website and for good reason. What’s the sense of having a great website if no one knows about it? Search engine optimization is always part of a thorough marketing plan for any business on the Internet; yet, most people don’t realize that each search engine places different priority to search engine-optimizing strategies. What works best for ranking on Google may not be the best strategy if you’re looking for higher ranking on Yahoo or MSN.
Here’s a website that I’ve used for a while when I have search engine specific questions when a client makes a particular request to gain higher ranking on a specific search engine. The website is Search Engine Forums ( http://www.searchengineforums.com ). It’s basically a forum community of people looking for questions answered on specific search engine standards. Their regular posters are very knowledgeable people usually in the Marketing/SEO industry who keep up all the latest changes in the way certain search engines index their search listings and help inform those of us who don’t have the time or desire to stay on top of the latest index and spidering changes to the Big 3 Search Engines - Google, Yahoo and MSN.
They also have info on other search engines and listing directories besides the Big 3, so no matter how well you may know SEO, people of any expertise level can find useful and helpful information on the latest updates and changes to the search engine or web directory they are looking to increase their website’s overall search ranking. Remember, the Internet is like an ocean and just putting your website out there without worrying about SEO is like tossing a bottle with a message in it and expecting someone to find it. Give your business and website a better marketing chance by getting the fundamentals down for Search Engine Optimization.

Improving your Las Vegas website’s search engine ranking is crucial to your success online. If you don’t take time to learn SEO (search engine optimization) and SEM (search engine marketing) you will waste a lot of time and money building sites and blogs that no one sees in Las Vegas or beyond. SEO is how you get more viewers to your pages (traffic), and SEM is the process of combining SEO with pay per click (PPC) advertising to market your website and products. Search engine traffic means people already searching for your product or information, and therefore already interested in buying.
First determine your best topic choices and how much competition there is for each topic. If you start out trying to compete with a lot of high ranking websites, you’ll find your site gets hopelessly lost in the search engine rankings. Instead, try to find niches where there is considerable demand for the product or information, but less competition from very strong sites. That makes it much easier to to rank higher in the search engine rankings. A keyword research tool like Wordtracker is very helpful in this process.
Once you have your content, one of the best ways to get higher rankings in the search engines is with backlinks. Backlinks are links to your website or blog from other websites. The more backlinks you have, the better. Backlinks from higher ranked sites have more weight. You can manually request backlinks from other sites, but this can take a very long time to accomplish. There are products that help, such as article submitters, which submit articles you write to different article directories, providing backlinks to your site.
Another product is backlink exchanges. If you use a backlink exchange, be sure it is a legitimate one: there are many that use techniques that can get your site kicked off the search engine results pages.
Taking the time to study SEO and SEM beats months and years of trial and error. The end result is a site that ranks high, on the first page of the search engine results, and that’s worth investing in SEO education and products that streamline the process.

Why do you need Google Analytics? The answer is simple. Google Analytics tells you everything you need to know about the traffic your site is receiving. From the novice personal informational website to the complex sales and corporate sites, Google Analytics has exactly what you need.
Google Analytics contains customized reporting on who is accessing your site, where they are coming from on the web, where they live, and even what type of web browser and internet connection they are using. At your fingertips you have the ability to find out if the group you are marketing towards is the group that is actually visiting your website. You can even see specific links that people are clicking to find your site.
With Google Analytics you are able to map trends and patterns. You can compare data with motion charts, funnel visualization, and other visually appealing features. You can even set up cross channel and multimedia tracking to measure the usage of Flash, social networking sites, video, and other applications. If you start a new advertising campaign, you can check the hits and other data associated with this advertising campaign independently.
Does your website sell products or market to a specific demographic? No problem. You can now be sure that you are hitting that demographic. If you aren’t meeting that demographic, you can alter the marketing strategies to more closely hit it. You can check your reports from anywhere in the world so long as you have an internet connection. Your Google Analytics is tied into your Google account to make life easier for you. Your website cannot afford to be without Google Analytics.
So why Google and not some other analytics program? Because Google is reliable. Google has the power and strength to continue to work for you. It is a name you know and trust. For free, you just can’t beat it. It works well with Google AdWords, AdSense, Website Optimizer, Webmaster Tools and other Google created masterpieces. If you don’t have Google Analytics on your site now, you need to get it soon. The longer you wait, the less you know about your website.
If you need professional assistance with setting up and installing any of the above Google marketing tools, please contact perkolate at 702.341.0085 or email us at fullsteam@perkolate.com.

If there is one thing your Las Vegas company can never compromise on, it would be marketing. Marketing often forms the base for a consistent and a productive sales effort for your company’s products or services. If you are serious about promoting your company and presenting a professionally targeted image, you should think of hiring a professional marketing firm like Perkolate.
4 reasons why you should hire a professional Las Vegas marketing firm:
Leave the specialized job to the experts.
Marketing is definitely not a job everyone has the experience, education and skills to do, it is a profession. It may seem like anyone can do it, but then there is a fine line of difference between doing something and doing something professionally and with strategy. Professional marketing firms like Perkolate Marketing have marketing experts who have years of marketing experience under their belts.
Do you really want to do it?
Remember, you could easily end up spending a lot of time with the marketing efforts for your product or service. And you most likely wont have the experience to even take an educated guess as to what a sound marketing plan could accomplish for your business. The first question you need to ask yourself – Do you really want to handle your company’s marketing by yourself? Assuming you do have the right kind of resources to do the job, would you really wish to invest the time into your own marketing programs, tracking the results and deciding the best way to refine those efforts? Most business owners answer “no” to this question, and could be much more effective handling other parts of running their Las Vegas businesses.
Marketing strategies and tactics are ever changing.
Years ago, marketing used to be primarily print ads, radio and television spots, yellow pages, door-door or through the newspaper classifieds. Nowadays, the turnaround time for running a marketing campaigns gets shorter and shorter. It involves much more that traditional advertising efforts. Online marketing, social marketing, pay-per-click campaigns and search engine optimization (SEO) are more important than the traditional marketing strategies of yesteryear. You need to stay on top of these new and emerging marketing tactics, and Perkolate can show you how!
Let a professional marketing firm maximize your marketing budget.
Whether you are promoting a $2 pen or a $20,000 wrist watch, your marketing plans and programs require a budget, a truth you cannot and should not escape (especially in today’s economy). Do you really want to risk spending your marketing budget on efforts that will not deliver results? It’s far more cost effective to hire a professional marketing firm like Perkolate to assist you in marketing your products and services.

When you start your Las Vegas business or company (or are thinking about your marketing in general) you should consider writing out a basic marketing communications strategy to help guide you along. It will help you stand out from your competition.
There are really 10 basic things to consider (questions to ask of yourself and write down answers to) when creating a simple marketing communication strategy:
- Understand your target market - know who they are, what they are like, what issues and problems they’re encountering and how they think and feel.
- Write effective marketing copy - make it personal to your potential customers and tell them how your products and services will help them solve their business problems. Create your elevator pitch carefully.
- Define your business needs and abilities - make sure you can deliver on the products and services your business is offering and know the resources, internal and external, required to deliver to your clients.
- Choose tactics to implement - you should always include the basics, business cards, brochures, a website, etc.
- Create a timeline of execution - create a reasonable schedule and leave ample time to execute your strategies and tactics and judge the results.
- Create strategic alliances - find companies or related businesses with whom you could exchange business.
- Define a budget - you cannot execute all of your strategies and tactics without a budget plan in place. Marketing yourself takes money.
- Decide how to communicate with your target - print materials, ads, online, a website, television or radio.
- Track your results - marketing communications can be refined and reworked by tracking and analyzing your results and adjusting future marketing communications plans accordingly.
- Separate your company from your competition - research your competitors and discover their weaknesses and capitalize your marketing in part around their weaknesses.
