Las Vegas Business Card Design - What You Need to Know

Tuesday, May 12th, 2009

A professional business card design for your Las Vegas business or company is truly THE most critical element to starting your new business. It is for the most part your first impression, your tone, your voice and your level of professionalism, not to mention the single piece of marketing materials you may hand to a potential client that holds all of your most important contact information.

Business cards designed quickly yourself or by a quickie print shop simply will not do. You need to take a few minutes to think, to strategize over the look and feel of your business card and the information you put on your business card.

What should you consider when having your business card designed:

  • Order a generous quantity - you never want to run out.  Keep them everywhere, in your office, at home, in your car, in your wallet, in your brief case.
  • Include all relevant information - Your company name, your company address, all telephone numbers, fax number, your website address, your title, a tagline and a professionally designed logo.
  • Choose a design and colors that speak to your target market - don’t choose colors just because you like them, make sure the colors and the design speak to your potential client.
  • Use a fairly heavy stock and have them printed by a printer - don’t run cards off on your printer at home, have them printed and on a fairly thick stock of paper. As a new company, you need credibility.
  • Use the back of the card - you can put additional information or sales copy on the back of your card, or simply place your logo there.  Looks much higher end than a one-sided card.
  • Leave space on front or back - for clients to write notes, leave some whitespace on the front or back of your card and don’t use all high gloss, as your client won’t be able to write notes if the coating on the cards is too glossy.
