Choose the Right Template and Look and Feel to your Presentation
When it comes to designing an effective PowerPoint presentation for your Las Vegas business or sales force, there are a few things to keep in mind. First, you should make sure that the presentation is eye-catching, but not distracting. This can be accomplished by choosing a slide design, that suits the type of presentation that you are working on. If your business has it’s own branding in place, you will want to make sure that the look and feel matches your current branding and existing marketing materials. There are many schemes that work perfectly for different types of presentations. Many of them pair very well with specific topics, and you can easily make your presentation unique by exploring these options.
Choose Animation Effects Carefully
Next, we come to animations and transitions. These can be very fun additions to your presentation, but you should be careful not to overindulge. Again, since the presentation should not overpower the information itself, the best bet is to select one or two effects, and use them consistently throughout the entire presentation. For most topics, a simple fade or dissolve effect is a great choice. This goes for slide transitions, the effect that takes place when one slide changes to the next, as well as the text or graphics in the slides themselves.
Content is Key - Keep It Simple
As for the information within the presentation itself, the best advice is: keep it simple. Most of the text boxes in the slides are pre-designed as bulleted lists because the information should be presented with concise statements. For the most part, the presentation will be accompanied by a speaker who is further explaining the information. The audience will not want to switch back and forth between listening to the speaker and reading lengthy paragraphs of information on each slide. Also, adding appropriate graphics to break up the monotony of a text-only presentation is perfectly acceptable, but again, in moderation. Remember not to overload your slides with text and graphics should you decide to use clip art, photos, or charts. Charts, tables, or graphs typically warrant their own slides, as they should be large enough for the audience to be able to read them.
Audio & Video
The timing of the slide show itself can be rehearsed (practice makes perfect!) to make sure that the information is displayed at the right pace and that you know exactly what you are speaking about. If a speaker is presenting the information, the slides can be changed manually. Soundtracks, audio and video can also be added to standalone presentations, are actually quite effective at drawing in the appropriate audience.
PowerPoint gives you the ability to make your presentation your own, and as long as you keep your audience in mind, you can effectively communicate your message.

Presenting your Las Vegas business, products and services while speaking with a supporting Powerpoint presentation is an effective way to keep your speech on track, have a visual representation to what you are speaking about and a valuable leave-behind.
The Content of Your Powerpoint Slide Presentation
You should carefully outline everything about your company and its products and services, or as we like to say, the who, what, where, when, WHY, and how. You should write your Powerpoint slide show to speak to the benefits for a potential company to hire you. Your powerpoint should be merely an outline or guide to what you are speaking about. So many companies make the mistake of cramming way too much information into their Powerpoint presentations.
The Design of Your Powerpoint Slide Presentation
The design of your Powerpoint presentation is equally as important as the content. It should be professional looking, filled with images when appropriate and should look slick and polished. It should also match all of your other corporate marketing materials, including your business cards, website, stationary, brochures, folders, collateral, etc. Consistency in your materials is extremely important and is key to making your Las Vegas company or business appear professional and polished.
If you need any assistance with your Powerpoint presentation - both the content writing and the design - be sure to contact Perkolate for Las Vegas Powerpoint design solutions.

Why You Need a Professional Logo Design for Your Business
A logo is your a big part of your corporate identity. It represents your business, your tone, you brand, your image; it can be a name, symbol, or design and can be trademarked. This logo becomes a tool to communicate a lot about your business without saying a word. It should describe your business and should have enough impact for a potential client or customer to remember and it should stand out and be different from your competition’s.
Logos should remain consistent on your website and across all of your marketing materials, including your business cards, stationary, letterhead, envelopes, brochures, flyers and Powerpoint presentations. Consistency ensures a consistent voice and tone to all of your materials and strengthens your corporate branding and identity efforts.
Here’s a list of things to consider when planning a logo to be designed for your Las Vegas business or company:
- Do you need a typographical logo design or a logo with a symbol or illustration integrated?
- What colors do you have in your existing marketing materials and what colors do you like or dislike?
- What fonts do you like and dislike?
- Do you have competitors logos you like or dislike and do you have reasons why you like or dislike them?
- Do you have anything you have sketched out that could get your basic ideas across to your logo designers?
- Make sure your website will look good and be readable both on the web and in print materials, large or small.

If you are starting a new business in Las Vegas, you should know that the first and most important tool you will need (after you have gotten your Nevada, Clark County and Las Vegas business licenses, and filed the proper incorporation papers) is a strong corporate logo.
A logo is perhaps the single most important marketing tool you will have as it will visually identify your company and help shape your public image. Of course, corporate image is everything!
Your logo should successfully brand your company in a professional light. We have all seen terrible logos and really, what is the first thing you think when you see a really badly designed logo on a business card or a business card with no logo at all? You think the person connected to that business card is either running a business out of their home, or that they are somehow less trustworthy.
The same is true with you and your new business. The logo on your business card should be professionally designed and should instill trust with a potential client or lead. And when you have that professionally thought out logo designed, it should appear on all of your additional marketing materials like your brochure, your PowerPoint presentations, your flyers, mailers, collateral, case studies, promo sheets, post cards, trade show materials, signage, letterhead, envelopes, yup, EVERYTHING.
This idea creates consistency in marketing and branding your Las Vegas business and consistency helps create a professional image for your company that leads to trust from a potential client, which leads to more clients, that ultimately translates into more revenue.

Perkolate is proud to announce that we recently completed a Powerpoint Presentation for The Shade Tree of Las Vegas, Nevada. We were happy to help such a worthy cause and give back to our community and we look forward to assisting them with projects on a pro-bono basis.
About The Shade Tree:
Since 1990 The Shade Tree has served homeless and abused women and children, victims of domestic violence, victims of elder abuse, victims of street violence, female veterans, homeless youth and the physically disabled.
Using programs offered by The Shade Tree, women can rebuild their lives. They can find employment, secure permanent housing and become productive member of the community.
The shelter provides immediate safety from the harshness of the streets, street crime and domestic violence. Each person is provided accommodations that ensure the dignity and respect of everyone utilizing the Shade Tree services.
The Shade Tree is the largest shelter of it’s kind in the state, and is the only 24-hour accessible shelter designed specifically to meet the needs of women and children in Southern Nevada. With 364 permanent beds, The Shade Tree provides some 80,000 nights of shelter each year. On average, 33% of our clients are children under the age of 18. Senior citizens represent the fastest growing segment of our population.
The second and third floors of our 38,000 square foot facility are residential areas with sleeping rooms, libraries, training rooms, rest rooms, and children’s play rooms. The main floor has our “Dayroom,” kitchen, laundry, restrooms and showers, and services for victims of violence. The full basement is used for storing donations and shelter supplies.
The Shade Tree is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. This means that most donations are tax deductible. We are a local ‘grassroots’ agency with no national affiliation or support.
To remove any barrier that might prevent a woman from accessing necessary services for herself and her children, 100% of our services are provided completely free of charge, regardless of the length of stay.
